Pest & Disease Management (April 13, 2024 @ 1pm to 3:30pm)

If you attend only one bee class this year, make it this one.

Varroa mites are the deadliest parasite for honey bee colonies and knowing how to monitor and manage them is essential to get your hives to be happy, healthy and productive.

Chris Maund, Provincial Apiarist will lead this class to deliver a module on pest and disease management in beekeeping. This will be a critical presentation as managing varroa and other pests are vital to have success in the industry.

This informative workshop will also feature a presentation from Michel Melanson, Crop Specialist NB Department of Agriculture.

Honey bees play an integral role in the pollination of New Brunswick's blueberry crops. If you've ever wanted to know what it takes to have your bees make the cut to provide a vital service to the blueberry industry this workshop is for you.

The pollination module will show you how to get involved in the pollination sector in NB and how this can allow you to generate revenue from your beehives.
